The 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC) Section 690.12 requires the module-level rapid shutdown of solar systems, all conductors within an array’s 1-ft boundary have to be reduced to 80V or less within 30 seconds of rapid shutdown initiation.

The YRSD Modular level PLC type is designed to be installed at solar panel level and provides safety shutdown ofthe DC supply to ZERO vOLTS in case of emergency. Shutdown is initiated in 4 ways – Manual Operation, ACSupply Cut-Off or Temperature Rise Trigger sunspec lnverter as follows:

when the open-circuit voltage of PV panel is below 120V.
