YRO Optimizer Introduction
In a typical solar energy system, many solar panels are connected in a string. This poses a problem: if one of the panels is blocked by shade, dust, or other obstructions, it won’t generate much electricity, and the power output of the other panels connected to it will also be reduced. As a result, the entire string of panels won’t generate the expected amount of electricity.
The YRO 3 functions in 1 PV optimizer approach is to provide each solar panel with its own unit. It is installed on the back of each panel and continuously regulates the working state of this panel. Regardless of whether the other panels are blocked or aging, it can ensure that the panel it is responsible for generates as much electricity as possible, under the current sunlight and temperature. In this way, even if there is shade on some parts of the roof, the other panels with sunlight can still generate electricity normally, and the total power generation of the system is more guaranteed.
From a safety perspective, as more and more photovoltaic systems are applied in residential and commercial buildings, the safety issues brought by high-voltage direct current are receiving increasing attention. The YRO new solar optimizer integrates a rapid shutdown function, which can quickly reduce the output voltage of each panel to a safe range when necessary, reducing risks.
Let’s look at the monitoring function. After many rooftop PV systems are in operation, users can only see a “total power generation”. It is not clear which panel is working properly and which one has low efficiency. Once there is an abnormal power generation, it often takes a lot of time to troubleshoot. The YRO 3-in-1 optimizer supports component-level monitoring, which can feed back the operating status of each photovoltaic panel to the system, making problem location clearer. For large-scale industrial and commercial users, this method can significantly reduce the maintenance difficulty and also reduce unnecessary manual inspections.
YRO Optimizer Features
The biggest characteristic of the new YRO PV optimizer is that it concentrates the needs that were previously scattered across different devices or functions into one module-level product.
- Function Integration, Simplifying Installation and Management
YRO integrates power optimization, rapid shutdown, and monitoring functions into a single device. For installers, wiring is simpler compared to installing multiple independent devices separately, saving installation time and costs. For users, this provides a solution that is relatively complete in functionality and easier to manage.
- Independent Optimization
The new optimizer allows each solar panel to work independently and adjust itself. When some panels in the system are shaded or have inconsistent performance due to orientation, dirt, or other reasons, the other unaffected panels can continue to generate power in good condition without being dragged down, helping to improve the overall power generation efficiency of the system.
- Wide Applicability
The YRO all-in-one optimizer can be applied to residential rooftops, commercial and industrial rooftops, and photovoltaic systems that need improved safety and management capabilities. It is not designed for only one specific type of extreme condition, but rather for most real-world usage scenarios, providing a relatively balanced and reliable solution.

3 Shutdown Methods
- Manual Shutdown
When the user presses the red button installed on the emergency switch box, the device will perform a rapid shutdown, cutting off the output of the PV array.
- AC Power Loss Shutdown
When, due to an emergency, relevant authorities need to cut off power to a local or regional grid, regardless of how the external AC power is cut off, the device will automatically perform a rapid shutdown, thereby turning off the PV array output.
- Automatic Emergency Shutdown
When the built-in temperature sensor in the optimizer detects that the temperature has exceeded 85°C, the device will automatically trigger a rapid shutdown, stopping the output of the PV module. When the temperature drops below 80°C, the system will automatically restore the output of the PV module.
